Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...........

Please spare a thought this Christmas for those less fortunate than ourselves.
It is really tough out there at the moment and not everyone will enjoy the things that we take for granted.

From Hungary: Stereomilk & Casual Streetwear Store

Our good friend Zòltan of Casual Streetwear Budapest sent us a report about  a well known Hungarian rock band called Steromilk and about his clothes shop, the Casual Streetwear...
We ve been working with these Hungarian lads for a few years  taking part in several joint music related projects...

The Stereomilk
The Stereomilk are a Hungarian alternative rock band formed in 2004 in
Budapest, Hungary. The band released its first album in 2006. The album was nominated for
Fonogram awards, also called the Hungarian Grammys.
The second album was released in  May of 2011 and included the hit
songs 'Megfelelõ ember' (The Right Man) reaching #6 on Hungarian
charts and 'Légypapír' (Fly Paper) peaking at #3, and staying in the top ten
for 8 weeks.

The "Casual" was the one of the first subcultural shop in Budapest. We like  brands with a solid background  and  new street/casual style brand with deep subcultural roots. Along the years  we organized few live concerts, with bands like Smodati (Italy) in Budapest, ex-Posh (Bp.) & Oasis Night Budapest/Debrecen. We support the Stereomilk  and few other hungarian underground bands. In the future we would like to organize more "mod style” events in Budapest.  Our shop is part of „The Coolness Society” : they definetly are  one of our main source of inspiration!  In Summer 2011  we opened the Three Stroke Productions showroom in the Casual Streetwear gallery, where our customers can find a selection of   rare and vintage hoodies plus most of their new  best sellers.

THE HACIENDA & BEADY EYE LIVE IN ITALY OCT 2011

The Hacienda (a name borrowed from the historical Manchester club) is a indie rock project formed by five members from Florence in December 2003...
Their CD Picking Pennies off the floor, released in February 2011,  received great feedback not only in Italy...
After their 2 gigs in Rome and in Padoa on 7th and 8th October (supporting Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye...) , Alessandro (vocals and guitar) sent us this interesting report:

"It all begun as 5 young lads from Florence made their own Beady Eye supporting debut in March this year in Milan, but no one of us thought that it would be happening again. So after an hometown (Firenze)  gig in June the band has been called to the army again for two more shows in Rome and Padova. After one hour chatting  about music, clothes, shirts and style, Liam Gallagher just walked with us to the stage in Rome making  us  ready for the fight.... And it was a proper heavyweight championship match between the Hacienda and the crowd. Rome people were amazing and made us feel like we won the champions league durin the entire set. We wanted to feel it as much as we could wearing the right clothes (shirts and t shirts by Three Stroke Productions...) and showing the right style durin the whole thing. Thank you LG. Thank you Rome". The Hacienda

Thanks Alessandro !!!

New band from Wales: The Melody (powered by Three Stroke Productions)

Our good friend Wayne sent us an update about his new project...The Melody

The Melody are:
Wayne Morgan: Vocals/Guitar
Josh Collier:Guitar/Backing Vocals
Anthony Hicks:Drums/Backing Vocals
Jay Mills:Bass
Please see below Bio Written by Matteo @ Zani  (top ezine  http://www.zani.co.uk/ )

The Melody. Fresh from the ashes of The Secret Faces, comes a hard hitting pop power five piece from Wales, with a beautiful combination of anger and melody. Their music is dark yet there is a sense of optimise and hope, all delivered with energy and weight, there are certainly a tour de force.
Dressed like a gang of Italian ultras with a twisted take on Sgt Peppers, it is clear that their own agenda of take no prisoners with their music, and they certainly get by with a little from their friends. As they have won support of the likes John Hellier (Wapping Wharf), and The Internet Hit Comedy Svengali. Leading to their debut gig at official Svengali night at The Mountain Ash Inn, South Wales one summer’s evening, with charming manners and cheeky confidence , their entourage of friends will grow and grow, and in return take them to the promise land of success, and rightly so.

Knowing full well the British music is in disarray, The Melody are abiding time with discipline by song writing, chasing gigs, recording and adding more colourful clothes to their wardrobe. Scheming and plotting whilst waiting for the right time to strike, like a snipers’ bullet with a flower wrapped around the shell.
The Melody are coming, don’t lock up your daughters, fling your doors wide open and let the music get you going.

Thanks Wayne  and, of course,  Matteo (Zani.co.uk) for txt and photo.....

A Guy Called Minty & Three Stroke Productions: a few words with Michael

The first collaboration between A Guy Called Minty and Three Stroke Productions dates back to May 2010 when we asked Michael to help us with a few graphic works: the result is that his 3 Casuals T shirt was one of our Summer 2010 beost sellers....The next 2 works (Subbuteo Casuals and Table Football sweatshirts ) will hit shops shelves in 2 weeks time....
and the best is yet to come...so stay tuned for more news...

The 3 casuals t shirt u made for three stroke productions received a very good feedback and your works seem to be very popular within the "casual" scene..what can u say about it?
Yes my work seems to be hit with the casual scene all over europe...
A quick painting of a character in CP and Trim Trabbs has led me doing this full time which cant get any better for me. Working from home doing what I love to do.

Tell us more about your style: when did u start and which artists do u take inspiration from?
Obviously not all my work I sell is Casual related. Ive always been into drawing/painting since a young age and while in school I just couldnt wait for my next Art lesson...Art College years followed but then I dropped of the pace. I kept my hand in with a few pieces here and there but nothing like the rate of work Im producing now. It was owning my own house that led me back to my passion. Creating pictures on canvas ofr walls around my house. Also creating Beatles and landmark collages that got my creative juices flowing.. That was about eight years ago and always think to myself why I didnt start creating and being artist sooner. But theres always ifs and buts. Take inspiration from every angle. But mainly from fashion and other fellow graphic artists..... at the moment love looking at more graphic work such as David Ellis, Blu Blu, Gabriel Moreno, and painters like Michele del Campo.. quality work.

Music: best new bands? your favourite music while working?
Music....aother passion of mine... Yea love listening to anything that floats my boat... espeically on sound cloud.... looking forward to noel gallaghers new album more than I was beady eye.... Love finding music thats been out there for years... Alex Gopher is a hit at the moment... Mainly the stuff Im listening to at the moment is french dance music... Again always on repeat in my studio which is abit out of the norm for me but Radio Fuzzy Sunshine Pop part 1 & 2....

Cardiff City FC: what are your expectations for the next season?
Yea Cardiff CIty is my team.... After a massive dissapointment to finish off last season championship and see our arch rivals Swansea be the first welsh team to reach the premiership was a bitter pill to swallow. But we must move on... I think Dave Jones' time had come to step down and did all he could at the club.. But looking forward to see malky mackays contributions.... looking forward to the new siginings Espeically the legend Robert Earnshaw and Kenny Miller...

What's your favourite piece of clothing?
My favourite brand at the moment is with out doubt "FOlk". Ive bought a few pieces recently and love everything they do.

Current/future projects?
Current projects really is still discovering my style and pushing it as far as I can within the casual scene or areas people can relate to ..currently revamping my website which is the blind leading the blind as Im building it myself... Nothing too technical but again great satisfaction for me once I finish it..

Pride & Passion: The Rise of the British Subcultures

A photo contest  organised by Three Stroke Productions....
Terms and conditions to be released soon..

" Over the years Subcultures and Fashion have often influenced each other in so many ways. In the past,  Mods, Skinheads, and Casuals have all adopted various clothing brands to achieve a certain style. With some of those brands now being held in high regard with cult status. Some "iconic" brands  owe a relevant part of their success to their association to the "scene"  The Three Stroke Productions label not only takes inspiration from some of these subcultures, but was genuinely born and still lives within the scene. Over the years we've sponsored and supported several events and bands. Developing a true interest towards these urban styles - hence our wish to portrait the world of the British Subcultures and the idea to showcase characters and situations related to them in the most genuine and natural way".

The Hacienda: brit pop from Firenze (Italy)

THE HACIENDA, FIRENZE, ITALY

New CD out on Black Candy Records
The Hacienda opened for Beady Eye in Milan (16/03/11)

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE BAND.
THE HACIENDA ARE A FIVE PIECE BAND BASED IN FLORENCE. WHICH IS AN “ARTISTIC” TOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF ITALY. THE LINE UP CONSISTS OF ALESSANDRO, GUITAR AND VOCALS, ANDREA, BASS AND BACKING VOCALS. LEONARDO, DRUMS.
FRANCESCO, KEYBOARD, VALERIO, GUITAR.
THE BAND - “WHEN WE STARTED TO PLAY AS A BAND SOME YEARS AGO WE WERE ALL INTO BRITISH SOUNDS. SO WE
WANTED TO GIVE OURSELVES A NAME THAT WAS REMINISCENT OF THE SCENE IN ENGLAND. I DECIDED ON THE HACIENDA,
WHICH HAS AN IMPORTANT MEANING IN THE UK SCENE. ALSO, TO MOST PEOPLE IN ITALY IT SIMPLY SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING
SPANISH, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS COOL TOO. “

WE UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS NEW ALBUM OUT SOON?“THE NEW ALBUM, OUT IN JANUARY ON BLACK CANDY RECORDS, (ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INDIE RECORD LABELS
IN ITALY) IS CALLED “PICKING PENNIES OFF THE FLOOR”. OUR FIRST RELEASE, “CONVERSATION LESS EP” PROBABLY INCLUDES
MORE FAST SONGS. WITH PICKING PENNIES WE INTRODUCED A NEW WAY TO ARRANGE THE SONGS, AND ALSO PLAYED
INSTRUMENTS THAT WE HAD NEVER USED BEFORE SUCH AS ORGANS, TRUMPETS VIBRAPHONES, AND A RHODES PIANO.
WE’RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM BECAUSE IT HAS A LOT OF DIFFERENT MOMENTS SUCH AS ACOUSTIC
SONGS, AND SONGS THAT SHOW US IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT WAY FROM BEFORE. I THINK DANNY MAHON FROM MANCHESTER
IS CURRENTLY ONE OF THE BEST SONGWRITERS IN THE UK. SO WE’RE SO PLEASED THAT HE WANTED TO COLLABORATE
WITH US ON THE NEW ALBUM, ADDING VOCALS TO A TRACK CALLED “NOVA”.
2 - WHAT DOES THE WORD “STYLE” MEAN TO YOU?...
“IF I THINK ABOUT STYLE, I THINK OF ALL THE 60’S UK BANDS. I THINK OF THE YOUNG PAUL WELLER, OASIS AT KNEBWORTH
IN 1996. “STYLE” IS ALSO ABOUT CLOTHES, HAIRCUT, AND MUSIC. IT’S A BIT LIKE WEARING A UNIFORM. THERE’S A STRONG
ASSOCIATION BETWEEN THE WAY WE LOOK AND THE MUSIC WE PLAY...”

FAVOURITE CLOTHES SHOPS?
“THERE’S AN AMAZING CLOTHES SHOP IN FLORENCE CALLED JULESEJIM. THEY SELL LOADS OF 60’S STYLE MOD CLOTHES,
WHICH ARE MY CUP OF TEA. THERE’S ANOTHER SUPERCOOL SHOP IN FLORENCE CALLED MANHATTAN (THREE STROKE
PRODUCTIONS OFFICIAL DEALER...), AND AT THE TOP OF OUR LIST WE ADD “POP CAFÈ” IN OLDHAM STREET, MANCHESTER.
THERE’S ALSO MENDOZA IN LONDONS BRICK LANE.”

 ANY PLANS FOR 2011?
“WE’RE TOTALLY BUZZ’IN FOR THE NEW YEAR. WITH THE NEW ALBUM COMING OUT IN EARLY JANUARY, WHICH WILL ALSO
BE RELEASED ON VINYL AS WELL. PLUS A EUROPEAN TOUR WITH LOADS OF DATES IN THE UK IN APRIL AND MAY.”
